Women who come to the Center with sexual problems often report that they feel alone, as if something were wrong with them. They also have experience with medical professionals who tell them “It’s all in your head. Just relax. Take a vacation. It will get better.” Being dismissed by one’s own health care professional, either because they are so busy, or they simply do not know a better solution, can be upsetting and debilitating as well.
Many women tell us they’ve had our website and information packet earmarked for two years but have not had the courage to call and make an appointment.
Here is a story of an MCFS patient that describes her difficulties with sexual intercourse and how she felt before and after her treatment at the Center.
"I was really depressed by the time I came to the Women’s Center. I had been suffering from lack of libido, lack of energy, vaginal dryness and pain during intercourse for years and I felt like there was nothing going on with me sexually. Things weren’t going well with me and my husband, but I just didn’t know where to turn or how to fix it.
... I found The Women’s Center on the Internet and got a referral from my physician. I have to be honest; I didn’t go with a whole lot of confidence. "
