Dr. Michael A. Werner has dedicated his career to improving the sex lives of men and women. As a fellowship-trained, board-certified urologist, Dr. Werner specialized in male sexual dysfunction and male infertility. His work with men's sexual dysfunction helped him recognize that women may also suffer from medically-caused sexual dysfunction. Six years ago, Werner decided to help women by founding the Medical Center for Female Sexuality with clinical director, Bat Sheva Marcus, L.M.S.W., M.P.H.
Dr. Werner earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco Medical School . He did his internship at St. Luke's Hospital in New York: his surgical residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York; his urology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center; and a Fellowship in male infertility and erectile dysfunction at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Werner lives in White Plains, N.Y. with his wife and four sons.
The Medical Center for Female Sexuality is one of the few sexual health treatment centers in the country to integrate a medical and psychological treatment modality. A medical and psychological team works to evaluate the issues that might be of concern to the patient. Since the MCFS is a medical practice, the treatments are generally covered by most insurance companies.
