MEDICAL CENTER FOR FEMALE SEXUALITY OFFERS UNIQUE TREATMENT FOR WOMEN

-- Integrates Psychological and Medical Care To Address Sexual Concerns --

PURCHASE, NY - Women in the tri-state area now have a place to turn with their sexual problems: The Medical Center for Female Sexuality (MCFS). The first center in the area to address the fact that sexual problems often combine medical and psychological concerns, the MCFS integrates medical treatment with psychological counseling to help patients improve their lives.

The MCFS is led by medical director, Dr. Michael A. Werner, a board-certified, fellowship-trained urologist who has helped hundreds of men and women reach their full sexual potential. The clinical director, Bat Sheva Marcus, LMSW, MPH, has a master's degree in public health from the Institute of Advanced Study of Human Sexuality and is currently a doctoral candidate.

As we learn more and more about women's sexual function, we are discovering there are physiological causes for sexual dysfunction and it is not all in women's imaginations as had been thought," said Marcus. "We have helped hundreds of women enjoy the improved quality of life that comes from a satisfying sex life."

The MCFS helps women improve their lives through an integrated course of medical and psychological treatment for sexual dysfunction. MCFS treats a wide variety of sexual complaints. The Center has worked with women who are experiencing a lack of desire, either as a recent development or those who have never had a sex drive at all. MCFS also treats women who do not become aroused, women who have pain or difficulty associated with intercourse, and women who are having orgasm problems. Most women's complaints fall somewhere within these categories. In some cases, women have difficulty identifying where their problems lie. In these cases, the professionals at the MCFS can help identify the issues.

The Medical Center for Female Sexuality treats women with a variety of modalities including topical testosterone, progesterone, papaverine, and L-Arginine. It uses a large range of oral medications including DHEA, Wellbutrin, and Viagra. Treatments can include the Eros device, dilators, and vibrators as well as biofeedback. Psychological treatments include behavior modification techniques, guided imagery, and relaxation exercises.

Treatments are covered by many heath insurance companies. Patients interested in learning more about the Medical Center for Female Sexuality should call the center at (914) 328-3700 or visit the Web site at www.centerforfemalesexuality.com .

The Medical Center for Female Sexuality is one of the only treatment centers in the country to integrate a medical and psychological treatment modality. A medical and psychological team works to evaluate the issues that might be of concern to the patient. Since the MCFS is a medical practice, the treatments are generally covered by most insurance companies. The MCFS can be found on the Internet at www.centerforfemalesexuality.com
