New Years Resolutions

December 2009

I'm not going to belabor the point:  we all know we put things off that we need to do, and that everyone else's issues seem to come first in our lives.

But this year, let's quietly declare our commitment to enjoy each moment, appreciate the people we love, make time for good deeds and seek help when we need it.

I've said in this column before that the average waiting time from searching and finding MCFS on the web or through a doctor recommendation and actually making the appointment is two years.

So, for two years, women keep our brochure in their bags, rummaging past it when looking for a quarter for the parking meter, rummaging past their own needs and disappointments as though just a few more minutes each day would permit them to make that call.

We are glad the brochure stays there, waiting.  Maybe this year, it will make it the front of the "to do" file like the other important things.

Now,  that sounds like a New Years resolution worth making.

Happy Holidays and warm wishes for a satisfying 2010.

"In the room next door - or - The vibrator play" receives good reviews from the critics, and knowing smiles from MCFS Staff

What can we say?  We're in the business of helping women achieve the warming self esteem and overall positive effects of a healthy sex life. Sometimes in our work, vibrators become a part of that process for some of our patients.

Beyond our practice, we know that vibrators are strategies for solo enjoyment, partner participation and even healing, like the play suggests.

The play takes place in 19th century upstate New York where a Dr. Givings has developed an instrument with the help of newly minted electricity.  It is a vibrating device that he places under the skirts and in the pants of various patients who come to him for healing; lo and behold, they feel much better afterwards.

Jane Eyre it's not.  But fun for the entire MCFS staff?  You betcha.  Take a look at all of us loitering in Grand Central Station awaiting the walk over to the Lyceum Theatre on West 45th Street.
