You may not realize that your lack of sexual desire could be due to a common medical condition that affects many women. Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder, or HSDD, is indicated by a decrease or absence of sexual desire that causes personal distress.
After you go through menopause or have your ovaries removed, there’s a decrease in your body’s production of testosterone. Testosterone is not just a male hormone, but actually plays a role in a woman’s sex drive.
The Medical Center for Female Sexuality is a study site for a topical gel
that is being tested to see if it raises testosterone levels, and therefore
desire, in women. A tiny amount of the product, called LibiGel® , is applied
to the skin of the arm once a day to see if testosterone levels increase.
We are screening and monitoring patients in two clinical trial groups:
Volunteering for this study means you’ll have access to investigational medication not available to the general public.
If you think you might qualify for either study, please call us for more information at (914) 328-3700. You must live conveniently close to our Westchester office in order to participate.
